Photographers + Videographers Call for Submissions

The Montana Avenue Merchants Association is seeking photographers and videographers to be considered for event coverage opportunities throughout the year.

We produce a range of events and activations on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica, from community gatherings and seasonal celebrations to wellness programming, merchant promotions, family-friendly events, and special experiences designed to highlight the character of the Avenue and the businesses that make it unique.

We are building a pool of creative professionals we can reach out to as opportunities arise.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for photographers and videographers who can capture events with a strong sense of storytelling, atmosphere, and professionalism.

This work is not just about documenting what happened. It is about capturing the feeling of the event, the energy of the street, the interactions between people, the participating businesses, and the overall spirit of Montana Avenue.

We are especially interested in creatives who can produce content that feels:

  • polished and professional

  • warm and community-oriented

  • visually strong for marketing use

  • natural rather than overly staged

  • aligned with the look and feel of a vibrant Santa Monica destination

Types of events may include

Depending on the event, coverage opportunities may include:

  • street festivals

  • wellness events

  • seasonal and holiday events

  • family-friendly programming

  • sidewalk events

  • live performances

  • classes, demonstrations, and community experiences

Ideal candidates

We welcome submissions from individuals and small teams who have:

  • event photography and/or videography experience

  • a strong portfolio

  • reliable communication

  • professionalism on-site

  • the ability to work independently in active public environments

  • an eye for storytelling, composition, and brand-friendly imagery

  • experience delivering files in an organized and timely way

Experience covering community events, street events, lifestyle brands, hospitality, retail, wellness, or local business programming is a plus.
